Abstract:
One aspect relates to a carbon monoxide (CO) dehydrogenase having increased oxygen resistance and/or enzyme activity, and, specifically, provides a mutated carbon monoxide dehydrogenase having increased oxygen resistance and/or enzyme activity by having an amino acid residue mutation. The carbon monoxide dehydrogenase readily oxidizes toxic carbon monoxide at room temperature and at atmospheric pressure to convert same into carbon dioxide, and thus is capable of detoxifying same, and can effectively oxidize carbon monoxide even in a gas containing oxygen and the like. In addition, a large amount of carbon monoxide, which is emitted in industries such as the petrochemistry industry and the steel industry, tobacco burning, household cookware and the combustion of various boilers, can be removed through a tobacco filter, an air purifier, a suction filter for household cookware, a gas boiler and the like, and various uses are possible.
