[Problem] The present invention provides a novel means which makes it possible to reduce intended skimming from a card handling device. [Solution] A card handling unit (200)comprises a card guide (202) which projects from a front surface unit (100F) of an automatic teller machine (100). The card guide (202)is formed by extending a card guide surface (204), for guiding a card (K) into a card insertion hole (114) and for guiding the card (K) out of the card insertion hole (114), towards the front of the device as seen from the card insertion hole (114). The card handling unit (200) further comprises a first protrusion (206) and a second protrusion (208). The first protrusion (206) protrudes upwards from the card guide surface (204) on the side facing the card insertion hole (114). The second protrusion (208) protrudes upwards from the card guide surface (204) in such a way as to lie opposite the first protrusion (206) with the card guide surface (204) therebetween, the second protrusion (208) joining to form a single element with the first protrusion (206) such as to enclose the card guide surface (204) on three sides together with the first protrusion (206).
