Abstract:
A card reader 1 has a first detection mechanism 11 for detecting that a card 2 has been inserted into a card slot 50 and a second detection mechanism 12 for detecting that the end part 20 on the insertion direction side F of the card 20 has reached the back side F0 of a card passage 6. When a magnetic head 3 detects a magnetic signal although the first detection mechanism 11 did not detect that the card 2 has been inserted into the card slot 50, or when the second detection mechanism 12 detects that the card 20 has reached the back side F0 although the first detection mechanism 11 did not detect that the card 2 has been inserted into the card slot 50, processing of the card 2 is continued.
