Abstract:
This catalyst for producing an acrylic acid from acrolein contains, as a catalytically active component thereof, molybdenum, vanadium, and copper. The catalytically active component has diffraction peaks, in an X-ray diffraction analysis using a Cu-Kα ray, at diffraction angles 2θ of 22.2° ± 0.3°, 28.2° ± 0.3°, 31.5° ± 0.3° and 32.6° ± 0.3°; the peak intensity ratio I(28.2°)/I(22.2°) is from 0.20 to 0.50; the peak intensity ratio I(31.5°)/I(22.2°) is from 0.03 to 0.20; and the peak intensity ratio I(32.6°)/I(22.2°) is from 0.03 to 0.40.
