Abstract:
A catalyst according to the present disclosure contains a mesoporous material and catalyst metal particles that contain platinum and a metal other than platinum, while being loaded on at least the inner side of the mesoporous material; the mesoporous material has mesopores which have a mode radius of from 1 to 25 nm and a pore volume of from 1.0 to 3.0 cm3/g before being loaded with the catalyst metal particles; the average particle diameter is 200 nm or more; the molar ratio of the metal other than platinum contained in the catalyst metal particles to all metals contained in the catalyst metal particles is 0.25 or more; and the volume ratio of catalyst metal particles having a particle diameter of 20 nm or more in the catalyst metal particles is 10% or less.
