Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a catalyst which has excellent substance diffusibility and with which a decrease in a conversion rate can be suppressed. To achieve the purpose, the present invention provides a catalyst in which a metal catalyst is carried on a porous carbon fiber, and which satisfies one or both of the following requirements (I) and (II). (I) The compositions of the metal catalysts of the center-side region and the outside region in the porous carbon fiber are different. (II) The opening rate on the outer surface of the porous carbon fiber is 1-40%, and the average diameter of the metal catalysts is 0.5-100 nm (exclusive of 100).
