Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a cell splitting method and apparatus. The method comprises: obtaining the cell load of a single-frequency network (SFN) cell, wherein the SFN cell is formed by merging a first cell and a second cell; if the cell load of the SFN cell is greater than a high load threshold, obtaining the interference between the first cell and the second cell, and if the interference between the first cell and the second is less than a splitting interference threshold, splitting the second cell from the SFN cell. Said cell splitting method can adapt to real-time changes of services in an actual network, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency for cell splitting, improving user experience, and enhancing the system throughout.
