Abstract:
In order to provide a centrifugal compressor capable of achieving downsizing and low cost while achieving increase in rotation speed, a centrifugal compressor (1) is provided with, in the shaft direction, a plurality of multistaged impellers (13, 14) that rotate together with a rotary shaft (12) to feed a fluid (G) by pressure using centrifugal force, and thereby stepwisely compresses the fluid (G) sucked through a suction port (21). The centrifugal compressor (1) comprises: the closed impellers (14) which include a plurality of blades (42) arranged radially with the rotary shaft (12) as the center and shrouds (43) covering the plurality of blades (42) from the outside in the radial direction; and the open impellers (13) which include a plurality of blades (32) but do not include any shroud, wherein one of the closed impellers (14) is arranged at least at the last stage, and one of the open impellers (13) is arranged at least at a stage directly, in the fluid flow direction, under the suction port (21).
