Abstract:
The present invention mainly enables character input operations to be simply and reliably performed in a short time. A character input assistance device (100) comprises: at least one edge section (20a, 20b) provided so as to have a step that serves as a finger hooking section for a panel surface (12) of a touch panel; and a character icon display control unit (84) that displays a plurality of first character icons (40) along the edge sections (20a, 20b) and displays a second character icon (60) associated to a selected first character icon (48), in the panel surface (12). The character input assistance device (100) also comprises icon identification sections (22a, 22b) on the edge sections (20a, 20b), that enable identification of the position of each of the first character icons (40) and second character icons (60).
