Title:
CHEMICAL RECYCLING PROCESS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/103938
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a chemical recycling technique by which low -molecular tetrafluoroethylene monomer and dimer can be recovered from PTFE-containing materials without troubles due to the use of steam. A chemical recycling process for recovering low-molecular tetrafluoroethylene monomer and dimer from a PTFE-containing material through thermal cracking, which comprises feeding a PTFE-containing material into a fluidized bed reactor containing therein a fluidized bed made of an inert particulate material, heating the resulting system, introducing nitrogen gas as the fluidizing gas into the reactor, and taking low-molecular tetrafluoroethylene monomer and dimer formed by the thermal cracking of PTFE out of the reactor together with the nitrogen gas.
