Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mattress that measures body temperature and displays same on an electronic screen that issues an audio alert when the body temperature exceeds a normal level. The invention belongs to the technical field of electronic mattresses and blankets and is called a child mattress with alert device. The purpose of the device is to monitor the child's temperature by means of the electronic screen that displays the temperature and alerts the care-giver by issuing an audio alert. Figure 1 includes: 1) a removable, washable cotton bed sheet that covers the mattress; 2) an inner mattress internally lined with polyester padding; 3) heat sensors distributed across the entire mattress and a heat sensor that transmits infrared rays that convert physical quantities into a signal that is wirelessly transmitted to a computer program; 4) a digital heat-measuring unit by Arduino (computer program) that receives electronic signals from the sensors, determines a body temperature reading and sends same as an electronic signal to a digital screen; 5) an electronic digital screen that receives reading signals from the heat-measuring unit and displays them on the screen as numbers beside a degree symbol; 6) a pulse sensor consisting of an instrument placed on the child's finger and connected to the mattress and to an Arduino pulse-monitoring unit that transmits an electronic signal of the reading thereof to a screen, beside a heart rate symbol; 7) an Arduino audio unit attached and connected to the screen, which issues an audio alert, by means of an audio-amplifying speaker, when the reading exceeds the normal level, the volume being controlled by means of a speaker symbol on the electronic screen; 8) a memory that stores previous readings to display them on the screen; 9) cooling fans distributed on both sides of the mattress, which are fans secured to the sides of a mattress that draw in air from outside and admit same through small tubes having exits (openings) that let the air out to ventilate and cool the mattress; and 10) an on/off switch for activation and deactivation. The above produces a thermometer in the form of a mattress that measures heat by means of heat sensors and transmits electronic messages to a control unit and converts them into numbers displayed on a screen, which shows the body temperature and transmits an electronic message to an audio unit to issue an alert by means of a speaker and by transmitting electronic messages via Bluetooth to an application installed on smart devices. The mattress alerts to temperature increase and is used to monitor the child's temperature by means of a direct or indirect alerting (via the application).
