Title:
CHOLINE BITARTRATE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/078408
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A choline bitartrate and a preparation method therefor, pertaining to the technical field of chemical synthesis. First, tartaric acid and trimethylamine are reacted in a molar ratio of 0.8-1.2:2 to form trimethylamine tartrate, then ethylene oxide is added to the trimethylamine tartrate in a molar ratio of trimethylamine tartrate to ethylene oxide of 1:2 for reaction to generate dicholine tartrate, then tartaric acid is added to the dicholine tartrate in a molar ratio of dicholine tartrate to tartaric acid of 1:0.8-1.2, and finally, a white or colorless choline bitartrate finished product is obtained by concentration, crystallization, and drying. No methanol is used in the production process, avoiding the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) during the production process, and the product does not contain toxic and harmful substances such as methanol. The method uses easily available raw materials, involves stable reactions, is environmentally friendly, and has a yield of higher than 98.1%. The product has a uniform morphology and good stability, and has high application value in the fields of food nutritive fortifiers, pharmaceuticals, and feed additives.
