Abstract:
A chuck device relatively simple in structure but capable of dividing the phase of a work with high precision in a short period of time. In order that at least one of a pair of chucks (42) may rotatably be held by the chuck proper (43) while disposed in such a state that the rotation axis of that chuck (42) is deviated by a fixed distance (e) with respect to the axis of the main shaft (3), the chuck device is provided with: a chuck driving shaft (5) disposed in the main shaft (3) rotatably and coaxially therewith; a motor (13) for driving said chuck driving shaft through a differential gear unit (8), a gear (103) coaxially disposed on the tip of the chuck driving shaft (5); an internal gear (102) disposed on the rear end of the chuck (42) coaxially with said rotation axis of said chuck so as to mesh with the abovesaid gear (103) of said chuck; and a unit detachably connecting the chuck proper (43) to the chuck (42).
