Abstract:
A pulse width modulator 131P generates, on the basis of an input signal Vin and a first carrier wave C1P, a first pulse Vp having a pulse width that changes in accordance with the input signal Vin, and a pulse width modulator 131N generates, on the basis of the input signal Vin and a second carrier wave C1N, a second pulse Vn having a pulse width that changes in accordance with the input signal Vin. Carrier wave generators 132P and 132N respectively generate the first carrier wave C1P and the second carrier wave C1N, each of which has a nonlinear gradient in at least one of a leading edge and a trailing edge. As a result of the nonlinear gradients of the first carrier wave C1P and the second carrier wave C1N, the first pulse Vp and the second pulse Vn generated by the pulse width modulators 131P and 131N both have a duty ratio of less than 50% if the input signal is zero, and the difference between the pulse width WP of the first pulse Vp and the pulse width WN of the second pulse Vn changes linearly in accordance with the input signal Vin.
