Abstract:
This classification method classifies the state of a person from eye information. This classification method uses an image capture device, a feature extraction unit, and a classifier to classify the state of a person from eye information. The image capture device has a function for generating a group of images by means of continuous shooting, said group of images preferably including an image of a region of an eye. The eye has a black region and a white region. The feature extraction unit: performs a step for extracting the region of the eye from the group of images; then performs a step for extracting a blink amplitude; then performs a step for detecting an image determined to show that a blink has begun; then performs a step for storing, as first data, an image determined to show that the blink has ended; and then performs a step for storing, as second data, an image generated a certain time after the first data. The feature extraction unit performs a step for extracting the white region from the first data and the second data. The classifier can use the white region as learning data.
