Abstract:
A clothing material (1) with through holes 2 that pass through the material in the thickness direction thereof, wherein: the through holes (2) are arrayed in one direction of the material; water repellent or hydrophobic regions (3) are disposed in at least a portion of the material that is in contact with the through holes (2); and hydrophilic regions (4) are disposed in the other portions. The water repellent or hydrophobic regions (3) may form grooves (5). The clothing of the present invention comprises said clothing material, and in the material the through holes that pass through in the thickness direction are arrayed in the height direction. Provided thereby is a clothing material that is water absorbent but inhibits the formation of a water film even when the material is wet, that ensures air permeability of the material, and that allows constant evaporation of sweat from the skin on the surface of the body. The clothing material thereby increases the amount of effective perspiration, does not reduce exercise performance, and can be worn comfortably even during perspiration. Clothing using the same is also provided.
