Abstract:
The present invention relates to a technique for imparting functionality through localized coating of a pulp mold, the technique being capable of maintaining shock-absorbing packaging properties of a support of typical pulp molds, and locally imparting functionality, such as water resistance, water repellency, moisture absorption, odor absorption, and shock-absorbing flexibility and the like, to portions in direct contact with a product. The present invention also relates to a pulp mold which, due to having the technique applied thereto, exhibits locally varied functionality. In the case of existing pulp mold modification techniques, problems such as increased processing cost, decreased pulp mold recyclability, and degradation of properties other than specific functionality can be caused by treating the entire surface of the pulp mold. Thus, in the present invention, a technique is provided for locally treating a pulp mold in order to resolve such problems and impart specific functionalities tailored to each particular product.
