Abstract:
A coin counting device capable of sorting out defective coins according to the present invention comprises: a coin sorting unit which is installed on a support frame and has multiple coin sorting holes for sorting coins according to the sizes of the coins, the coin sorting holes being formed in the circumferential direction of the coin sorting unit; a coin separation unit which includes a coin separation plate having a coin guide part for guiding coins to the coin sorting unit; a defective coin discharge unit which is installed in the coin guide part of the coin separation unit so as to detect whether coins moving to the sorting unit are defective and sort out defective coins therefrom; a coin supply unit for supplying coins to be sorted such that the coins can move along the coin guide part; and a coin transfer unit which elastically comes in close contact with the coin separation unit so as to move coins, fed by the coin supply unit, to the coin guide part and the coin sorting holes while bringing the coins into close contact with the coin separation plate.
