Abstract:
Provided are a communication device and a communication method capable of simultaneously directing main beams to receiving stations and transmitting stations of a number exceeding N-number of RF systems provided to a host device. This communication device is provided with: a transmitting unit for generating a non-orthogonal multiplex signal including a downlink signal addressed to a plurality of terminal devices; an antenna capable of forming an antenna directivity pattern including a plurality of main beams; and a transmission beam control unit for generating a signal for controlling the antenna directivity pattern. The non-orthogonal multiplex signal is simultaneously transmitted using the plurality of main beams, and the number of main beams included in the antenna directivity pattern is greater than the number of RF systems of the antenna.
