Abstract:
The present application relates to a communication method and apparatus. A first terminal device obtains first configuration information, the first configuration information being used by the first terminal device to configure a first radio bearer, the first radio bearer being a radio bearer between the first terminal device and a second terminal device, and the second terminal device being a data transmission end. The first terminal device configures the first radio bearer according to the first configuration information. When the configuration of the first radio bearer fails, the first terminal device transmits first configuration failure information to a network device. It is unnecessary for a relay terminal device to transmit configuration failure information to a remote terminal device, which then forwards the configuration failure information to a network by means of the relay terminal device, thereby cancelling the process of forwarding configuration failure information, thus saving transmission resources.
