Abstract:
Disclosed is a communications system, comprising a plurality of packet transfer devices and a control device that controls each respective packet transfer device, the communications system being capable of organizing communications networks that are employed in packet transfers by respective packet transfer devices and communications networks that are employed by a control device to control each respective packet transfer device into a single type of communications network. A control device (80) identifies ports on a destination device that have not been looked up, and sends a request for response to the destination device whereupon the ports that have not been probed are present. A packet transfer device (90) determines whether to transfer a request for response received thereupon to another packet transfer device. Upon determining to transfer the request for response to another packet transfer device, the packet transfer device (90) transfers the request for response to the other packet transfer device. Upon determining not to transfer the request for response to the other packet transfer device, the packet transfer device (90) returns a response including port information of the packet transfer device thereof along the route to the control device.
