The compact air compressor according to the present invention comprises a cylinder block 40 having a suction muffler 43 and a discharge muffler 44 integrally formed, provided with a suction valve and a discharge valve, to block the front end of a cylinder 50; a valve assembly 70 coupled to the cylinder block 40; a valve cover 80 covering the valve assembly 70 to form a suction space 81a and a discharge space 81b in the inside thereof in front of the valve assembly 70; and at least one press bolt 90 coupling the valve cover 80 and the cylinder block 40 to press the cylinder 50 between the valve cover 80 and the cylinder block 40, wherein the valve assembly 70 and the valve cover 80 comprise an extension 71A formed by extending the side of a discharge part of a valve plate 71 having a suction inlet 711 penetrated at the side of a suction part; an extension 80A of the valve cover 80 formed to correspond to the extension 71A of the valve plate 71; and an emission outlet 713 formed by penetrating the extension 71 A of the valve plate 71, wherein a front end edge 94A of a discharge connection tube 94 integrally formed with a high pressure gas inlet 441 of the discharge muffler 44 protruding frontwards therefrom is brought into contact with the edge of the emission outlet 713 formed by penetrating the extension 71 A of the valve plate 71.
