Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002043369
Kind Code:

Abstract:
A card camera (10) with a compact configuration and that may use standard 35 mm film is disclosed. The camera (10) includes a front panel (22) and a rear panel (20) positioned substantially parallel and co-extensive to the front panel (22). A band of resilient material (24) extends approximately from the outer edge of the front panel (22) to the outer edge of the rear panel (20). The rear panel (20) is controllably movable relative to the front panel (22). An outer housing sheet member includes a number of strut members (16) extending therefrom. The outer housing sheet member is affixed to the exterior side of the front panel (22). The strut members (16) engageable with the rear panel (20) to fix the rear panel (20) a distance away from the front panel (22) to obtain the proper focal length. A light-sensitive medium, such as photographic film (80), is positioned therein. A shutter (34) controls the light imparted to the light-sensitive medium (80). The light-sensitive medium (80) is exposed to a scene through the lens (28). The light-sensitive medium (80) may be separate individually stacked photographic film frames (82a-f), a fan folded photographic film strip (110) or individual film frames (114) residing on a film carrier web (116). When individual frames (114) are used, they may be assembled into a continuous strip configuration for development using standard photographic equipment.
