Abstract:
This reactor (1) is provided with a coil (2), and a magnetic core (3) that is positioned on the inside and outside of the coil (2), and which forms a closed magnetic circuit. At least part of the magnetic core (3) is made from a composite material that contains a magnetic powder made from a single material, and an encapsulating resin having this powder dispersed therein. There are a plurality of peaks in the grain size distribution of the magnetic powder. That is to say, the magnetic powder contains a high frequency of both fine powder and rough powder. By containing a fine powder, this composite material can reduce the eddy current loss, making it a low-loss material. The fact that the powder is a mixed powder containing a fine powder and a rough powder increases the filling factor of the magnetic powder, and gives this composite material a high saturation flux density. By using a mixed powder, the raw material powder becomes easier to handle, and the composite material is very easy to produce.
