Abstract:
Composite oxide fine particles are produced by a sol-gel method under conditions that impede the production of coarse particles and aggregated particles, and coarse particles and aggregated particles are then removed by wet filtration using a filter. A salt is then introduced into a dispersion of the composite oxide fine particles and aggregates of weakly aggregated composite oxide fine particles are produced in the dispersion. Solid-liquid separation is carried out on the composite oxide fine particle dispersion in which such aggregates have been produced, and drying is then performed. Pulverization is easily performed because strongly aggregated masses are not produced during drying. Composite oxide fine particles not containing coarse particles or aggregated particles can thus be obtained. In addition, the amount of coarse particles can be further reduced using a known comminution means, e.g., a ball mill or jet mill.
