Abstract:
The composite pigment contains a first cholesteric liquid crystal pigment, and a second cholesteric liquid crystal pigment. The first cholesteric liquid crystal pigment is a pigment having a selective reflection bandwidth of 150 nm or narrower and having a center wavelength for the selective reflection band that falls in a wavelength range of between 400 nm an 800 nm inclusive. The second cholesteric liquid crystal pigment is a pigment having a selective reflection bandwidth of 200 nm or wider within a range of between 400 nm and 800 nm wavelength. The selective reflection band of the first cholesteric liquid crystal pigment and the selective reflection band of the second cholesteric liquid crystal pigment overlap one another at least partially. The content of the first cholesteric liquid crystal pigment is over 30% by weight but no greater than 80% by weight relative to the total amount of the first cholesteric liquid crystal pigment and the second cholesteric liquid crystal pigment.
