Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a composite strand includes a first step, a second step, and a third step. The first step is for forming a core intermediate by impregnating a high-strength fiber bundle with an uncured resin matrix. The second step is carried out after the first step. Additionally, the second step is for intertwining a plurality of steel outer-periphery wire members around the outer periphery of the core intermediate. The third step is carried out after the second step. Additionally, the third step is for forming the core intermediate into a fiber-reinforced plastic strand core member by curing the matrix resin.
