Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising kaempferide or a derivative thereof as an active ingredient for prevention or treatment of protein conformational disorder or cardiovascular disease. While inducing the effective degradation of denatured proteins, protein aggregates, and plaques through promotion of autophagy influx, the composition of the present invention, which is a naturally occurring compound, exhibits low side effects even after long-term administration and as such, can be advantageously used as an effective therapeutic composition for protein conformational disorder and cardiovascular disease.
