Abstract:

The present invention relates to a composition for prevention, reduction, or treatment of skin wrinkles and skin moisturization, comprising Enterococcus lactis as an effective component. More specifically, Enterococcus lactis: significantly suppresses the expression of MMP-1 and MMP-9 that is increased by UV irradiation; reduces skin thickness by softening the stratum corneum; increases the water content of the skin; reduces transdermal water loss; and increases hyaluronic acid content. Accordingly, the composition of the present invention may be utilized as: a cosmetic composition for skin wrinkle reduction or skin moisturization; a functional health food composition for skin wrinkle reduction or skin moisturization; a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating dry skin; a feed composition for skin wrinkle reduction and skin moisturization; and a veterinary composition for skin wrinkle reduction and skin moisturization.
