Abstract:
This composition includes a compound represented by formula (1) and a liquid crystal compound. In the formula, n is 1 or 2. Ar1, Ar2, and Ar3 represent 1,4-phenylene groups or the like, where at least one thereof has a hydroxyl group that can form an intramolecular hydrogen bond. R1 represents -OC(=O)-, -N=N-, or the like. R2 represents an alkylamino group. If Ar1 does not have a hydroxyl group that can form an intramolecular hydrogen bond or has the same at the ortho position of R1, R3 represents an alkanediyl group, an alkanediyloxy group, an alkanediyloxycarbonyl group, an alkanediylcarbonyl group, or an alkanediylcarbonyloxy group. If Ar1 has a hydroxyl group that can form an intramolecular hydrogen bond at the ortho position of R3, R3 represents a cyclic or linear group that can form a hydrogen bond with said hydroxyl group. R4 represents a polymerizable group or a hydrogen atom.
