A compressor provided with: a shell constituting an outer covering and having an oil sump formed in the bottom; an oil pump which is accommodated in the shell and which draws up oil from the oil sump; a motor provided inside the shell; a compressing part provided inside the shell and driven by the motor to compress an operative gas; a shaft part for connecting the motor and the compressing part and transmitting the rotational force of the motor to the compressing part, the interior of the shaft part having an oil passage through which flows oil drawn up by the oil pump; a frame provided below the motor and the compressing part inside the shell and rotatably supporting the shaft part via a bearing; and a bypass device provided between the frame and the motor, the interior of the bypass device having a bypass flow channel through which flows oil that has bypassed the oil passage. An oil-return flow channel for returning oil from a bypass outlet in the bypass flow channel to the oil sump is formed so as to prevent oil flowing out through the bypass outlet from getting mixed as oil drops into the operative gas flowing to the space above the frame.
