Abstract:
A conductive elastic roller (1) which comprises a shaft member (2) and an elastic
layer (3) consisting of one or more layers and disposed on the radial outer surface
of the shaft member (2), wherein at least one layer of the elastic layer (3) comprises
an ultraviolet-cured resin obtained by curing raw materials for elastic-layer
formation comprising a urethane acrylate oligomer (A), a photopolymerization
initiator (B), and a conductive agent (C) by irradiation with ultraviolet. The
urethane acrylate oligomer (A) is a urethane acrylate oligomer synthesized
either using as the only polyol a polyether polyol (a1) which is obtained by the
addition polymerization of propylene oxide with a polyhydric alcohol and in
which the proportion of primary hydroxy groups in the hydroxy groups located
at molecular ends is 40% or higher or using the polyether polyol (a1) and other
polyol(s) (a2). The elastic layer of this conductive elastic roller (1) has a
low hardness and a low compressive residual set and less contaminates adjacent
members including a photoreceptor.
