This coupling structure (7) for between an electronic component and a terminal fitting comprises: a relay (1) having a plurality of terminal sections (3a, 3b) protruding from a cuboid relay main body (2); a terminal fitting (4) fitted to each terminal section (3a, 3b); and a holding member (6) having the relay (1) and the terminal fitting (4) housed therein. Each terminal section (3a, 3b) in the relay (1) is bent at right angles and the tip section is provided facing the side surfaces (2c, 2d) of the relay main body (2). The relay (1) has an incorrect insertion-preventing protrusion (9) provided on one side surface (2e) of the relay main body (2). The holding member (6) has: a component main body housing section (60) housing the relay main body (2); terminal section housing sections (61a, 61b) housing the tip section of each terminal section (3a, 3b) and housing each terminal fitting (4); a groove (67) that positions the incorrect insertion-preventing protrusion (9) when the relay (1) is inserted in the correct orientation; and a contact section (68) that comes in contact with the incorrect insertion-preventing protrusion (9) when the relay (1) is not inserted in the correct orientation. As a result, deformation and damage of terminal sections in the electronic component are prevented when attempting to incorrectly insert the electronic component.
