Abstract:
A connector 10 comprises contacts 30, a housing 20, and a shell 40 that covers the housing 20 and forms, between itself and the housing 20, an insertion portion into which at least one connection object is to be inserted, wherein the housing 20 has through holes 21 for allowing distal end portions of contact portions of the contacts 30 to be displaced in the thickness direction Z of a substrate; in a state where a connection object C is not inserted into the insertion portion, the distal end portions of the contact portions of the contacts 30 are arranged so as to be positioned in the through holes 21; and a short-circuit/contact prevention means 50 is formed to prevent the distal end portions of the contact portions of the contacts 30 from short-circuiting or coming into contact with other members in a state where the connection object C is inserted in the insertion portion.
