Abstract:
In order to provide a contact switching device having a long service life, and which is not susceptible to short circuits caused by the outflow of debris generated by arcs, a movable iron core is attracted to one end of a movable shaft in accordance with the excitation and demagnetization of an electromagnet, thereby moving the movable shaft in a reciprocating manner in the axial direction, and having the movable contact of the movable contactor disposed on the other end of the movable shaft move towards and away from the fixed contact. More specifically, the contact surface between the fixed contact and the movable contact is disposed within a cylindrical insulating member, and the opening in the insulating member is closed with a lid body having at least one part that extends in the direction in which the arcing generated between the fixed contact and the movable contact jumps.
