Abstract:
The present invention provides a control apparatus and method for a sewing machine. The sewing machine comprises a main shaft, a feed dog bracket, feed dogs, a feed dog lifting unit, a feeding unit, a presser foot lift mechanism, a driving motor, a needle pitch adjusting cam and a presser foot lift cam which are both driven by the driving motor to rotate, a needle pitch adjusting transmission unit, and a presser foot lift transmission unit. The feeding unit has a feeding swing seat for determining the needle pitch of the sewing machine; the needle pitch adjusting cam is connected to the feeding swing seat by means of the needle pitch adjusting transmission unit, and the presser foot lift cam is connected to the presser foot lift mechanism by means of the presser foot lift transmission unit; a motor shaft of the driving motor operates in a presser foot lift corner area, there is no power transmission between the needle pitch adjusting cam and the needle pitch adjusting transmission unit, and there is power transmission between the presser foot lift cam and the presser foot lift transmission unit. In the present application, the needle pitch adjusting transmission unit does not move during the presser foot lift process, thereby ensuring that the feed dogs remain stationary in the presser foot lifting and lowering process and the needle pitch of the sewing machine does not change, and satisfying requirements of a special sewing process.
