Abstract:
Provided is a novel control device for an automatic transmission, with which it is possible to accurately detect an operating condition in which "busy lockup" is repeated frequently, and to minimize the occurrence of "busy lockup." Before a lockup clutch (6) is engaged, when a preceding vehicle and the host vehicle approach each other while the travel status of a host vehicle is a prescribed travel status, control is performed so that the lockup clutch (6) continues to be disengaged.
