Abstract:
A control device (control unit (4)) used for controlling a scanning electromagnet (31) for scanning irradiation, the device being provided with: a command value-processing system (memory (42), computing circuit (43), interface (46)) for generating a command value for driving the scanning electromagnet (31) on the basis of the therapeutic plan and synchronizing the generated command value with an accelerator (10) and outputting same; and a comparing unit (45) for detecting errors in the processing system. At least some of the circuits (for example, the computing circuit (43)) of the processing system are redundant. The comparing unit (45) detects that a processing error has occurred when the outputs from the redundant circuits do not match.
