Abstract:
A controller capable of ensuring an engine braking force or a drive torque even
if the speed-change ratio control of an automatic transmission or the speed-down
control thereof fails. A controller of a vehicle automatic transmission which
outputs a power produced by varying the input power with the speed change ratio
comprises failure detecting means for detecting a failure that one of predetermined
speed-change rations cannot be set and speed-decrease command means for outputting
a speed-change command to set a speed-change ratio higher than the predetermined
speed-change ratio according to the signal outputted when the failure detecting
means detects a failure.
