Abstract:
The converter (1) is provided with a power module (21), a smoothing capacitor (22), a bus line current detection unit (25), and a control unit (26). The power module (21) rectifies AC voltage supplied from an AC power supply (3) and outputs the rectified voltage from a DC power supply terminal (14). The bus line current detection unit (25) detects bus line current that is the current flowing between the DC power supply terminal (14) and the smoothing capacitor (22). The control unit (26) controls a plurality of switching elements (Q1-Q6) on the basis of the voltage phases of the AC power supply (3) to output the regenerative power of a motor (5) to the AC power supply (3). The control unit (26) is provided with a power failure detection unit (33) for determining, on the basis of the absolute value of the bus line current detected by the bus line current detection unit (25), whether or not a power failure has occurred in the AC power supply (3) in the case of at least either during powering of the motor (5) or during the regeneration of the motor (5).
