Abstract:
Provided is a conveyor belt specification determining method enabling efficient determination of specifications of an upper cover rubber having durability that conforms to a use condition. Severity of a use condition of a conveyor belt 1 is categorized into categories C1 to C5 by using, as indices, horizontal energy EH and vertical energy EV which are applied onto the conveyor belt 1 when objects S to be conveyed are introduced, loaded, and conveyed. A database in which an allowable range of predetermined characteristics, of an upper cover rubber 3, including wear resistance and cut resistance for each of the categories C1 to C5 is set is created, and an influence, on the predetermined characteristics, caused by representative rubber physical properties of the upper cover rubber 3 which has an influence on the predetermined characteristics is known in advance. A category is specified from the use condition of the conveyor belt 1 on the basis of the database, an appropriate range of the representative rubber physical properties is specified such that the predetermined characteristics are within the allowable range in the specified category, and a rubber of a kind having the rubber physical properties within the appropriate range is selected as the upper cover rubber.
