Abstract:
A copper-covered steel wire according to the present invention includes: a core wire that is made of steel; and a cover layer that covers the outer circumferential surface of the core wire and that is made of copper or copper alloy. The core wire includes a plurality of oxide regions that include the outer circumferential surface of the core wire in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the core wire, that are disposed at intervals in the circumferential direction of the core wire, and that are composed of oxides of elements contained in the steel, which constitutes the core wire.
