Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technique for enabling more accurate authentication of a device before a connection between the device and a host computer is established. [Solution] Provided is a currency handling device comprising: an information output unit that outputs first device identification information recorded in a device; an authentication key acquisition unit that, when it is determined by an authentication server that the first device identification information matches second device identification information registered in advance in the authentication server, acquires a first authentication key associated with the second device identification information; and a state control unit that renders the state of the device usable when the first authentication key matches a second authentication key recorded in the device.
