Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a safer cutting machine. This cutting machine is provided with a front side detecting means which is disposed in a position that is separated downward from a lower edge of a clamp cage by a first prescribed distance, and that is in the vicinity of a front edge of a clamp cage in the front-back direction of the clamp cage, a rear side detecting means which is disposed in a position that is separated downward from the lower edge of the clamp cage by a second prescribed distance, different from the first prescribed distance, and that is further to the rear, in the front-back direction of the clamp cage, than the front side detecting means, wherein an intruding object is detected on the basis of: the height of the clamp cage when a detected state/non-detected state of the rear side detecting means switches due to loaded paper, when the clamp cage is moving or is not moving in the vertical direction; the height of the clamp cage when a detected state/non-detected state of the front side detecting means switches due to an unknown object when the clamp cage is moving in the vertical direction; a difference between the first prescribed distance and the second prescribed distance; and an estimated dimension of the intruding object in the vertical direction of the clamp cage.
