Abstract:

Compounds of the general formula (I) or salts thereof, useful in the production of silver halide photographic sensitive materials: (I) wherein R?1¿ and R?2¿ are each alkyl or aryl; R?3¿ to R?6¿ are each hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, halogeno, cyano, carboxyl, or sulfo; X?1¿ and X?2¿ are each C¿1-15? alkyl or aryl, with the proviso that the total number of carboxyl groups present in X?1¿ and X?2¿ is four or below; m?1¿ to m?3¿ are each 0 or 1; L?1¿ to L?7¿ are each a methine group; M is hydrogen, a metal, or a quaternary ammonium salt; Y is nonmetal elements necessary for forming a 5- to 10-membered heterocycle; and n is an integer of 1 to 7 which is necessary for neutralizing the charge.
