Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a damping member which can prevent the generation of noise between a rotary connector device and the vehicle body side, which are mounted together. A damping member (1) is provided to a rotary connector device (100) engaging with a section with which the rotary connector device (100) is adapted to be engaged and which is provided to the vehicle body side, and the damping member (1) allows an engagement section (130) to be inserted therein, the engagement section (130) comprising an engagement shaft (132) which extends in an insertion direction (height direction H), the engagement section (130) also comprising an engagement latch (133) protruding from the front end side of the engagement shaft (132). The damping member (1) is formed from butyl rubber which is an elastically deformable elastic member, and the damping member (1) comprises a first slit (12) into which the engagement shaft (132) is inserted, and a second slit (14) which is extended from the first slit in the direction in which the engagement latch (133) protrudes. The damping member (1) is characterized in that the first slit (12) and the second slit (14) are in communication with each other, and the engagement section (130) is inserted therein.
