Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of more flexibly forecasting demand. A demand forecasting device 1 for forecasting demand in a first area constituted by a prescribed area, the demand forecasting device 1 comprising: a storage unit 10 for storing area information associated with a second area constituted by a prescribed area associated with demand in the first area; an acquiring unit 11 for acquiring area population information associated with the population present in the second area as indicated by the area information stored in the storage unit 10; and a forecasting unit 12 for forecasting demand in the first area on the basis of the area population information acquired by the acquiring unit 11. The second area may be an area in which there is a correlation between the population present in the area and demand in the first area. The second area may be an area that tends to be visited by visitors to the first area.
