The invention provides a device for washing and sterilizing the fruit and vegetable, the device comprises a housing, a upper cover, which is fastened in the top of the housing, and a partition in the housing cavity, by which the housing is divided into two cavitys. The washing cavity is placed in the upper housing, while the apparatus setting cavity is below. The washing basket is placed in the washing cavity, with a drain on the bottom of it, while the motor and the deceleration mechanism are placed in the apparatus setting cavity, the output shaft of the washing basket is joined to that of the deceleration mechanism. The device is charactered in that it is provided a intake vavle in the top cover, a drain valve and a motor in the apparatus setting cavity which is used to control the switch of the drain valve Said intake of the drain valve is connected to the drain, it can realize the automatic draining by the computer control, and realize the automatic washing the vegetable and fruit.
