Abstract:
The invention is related to a metal ring fastening device that enables quick and fault-free fastening of metal rings to machining workbenches (lathe, grinding) and also enables machining of the outer surface of the ring by taking the inner surface as reference. This is carried out by a helical spring (4), a bolt (5), and a ball (6) configuration. The helical spring (4), when no force is applied, keeps two conical compression pieces apart and the bolt (5) maintains the two conical compression pieces not separating. In the event of a metal ring connected to the device and an axial pressure force applied, one of the two compression pieces move toward the other which brings the balls (6) in contact with the inner surface of the ring (3). Therefore the inner profile of the ring (3) could be taken as reference for machining.
