Description:
"Device for making toilet paper or sanitary towels stand-alone, adapted for the regulated release of fragrance"

Description

Field of the art

The present invention operates in the field of personal hygiene and house cleaning, regarding a particular support for making toilet paper or sanitary towels stand-alone, adapted to modulate the emission of a fragrance by means of regulating the translation thereof.

Prior art

The use of toilet paper is indispensable for everyone, in order to have a correct personal hygiene.

However it often occurs that there is no suitable support present within the bathroom, commonly known as paper-holder, which holds the toilet paper suspended so that the sheets are not in contact with other surfaces. In this case, by abutting the roll in vertical position on the sink or on any other surface, the paper could be wetted or in any case dirtied before use by the user. This drawback, not very healthy, cannot currently be resolved without the presence of a suitable toilet paper holder. The same discussion holds true for any one sanitary towel, e.g. of the type commonly used in the kitchen.

The patent US 6425530 regards a sleeve that emanates fragrance, longitudinally open in order to be adapted to any diameter of the support on which it is to be inserted. The critical issues of this finding consist of the fact that it requires another support, it cannot itself constitute a stand-alone device and it does not allow the controlled diffusion of the fragrance.

Object of the present invention, therefore, is that of resolving the abovementioned critical issues, by claiming a stand-alone device for toilet paper or sanitary towels, usable in the absence of a roll-holder, which allows abutting the roll against any one flat surface, preventing the paper from being dirtied and with the additional function of releasing fragrance in a controlled manner, by means of its translation, through a series of break lines. Such invention is also perfectly adapted to common use, i.e. within the roll-holder, its function of regulated fragrance release remaining.

Description of the invention

According to the present invention, a device for making toilet paper or sanitary towels standalone is made, which is adapted to release any one fragrant fragrance into the environment in a controlled manner. A further particularly convenient function of the present invention consists of the fact that said device makes the roll toilet paper or sanitary towels a "standalone" object. Such characteristic allows abutting the toilet paper or sanitary towel roll against any one flat surface, without the paper touching the abutment surface and becoming dirty or wet.

Advantageously, said device for making toilet paper or sanitary towels stand-alone is constituted by a first external cylindrical support 1 and by a second coaxial and hollow internal cylindrical support 2, positioned in a first closed configuration in which the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1 and the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 2 are completely in contact with each other. In addition, on said internal surface 1.2 of said external cylindrical support 1 and/or on said external surface 2.1 of said internal cylindrical support 2, at least one fragrant essence is applied in any suitable manner, and when the support is situated in said first closed configuration, the diffusion of the fragrance is prevented.

Advantageously, by sliding said internal cylindrical support 2 along the longitudinal axis, said device can assume a second open configuration, characterized in that said internal cylindrical support 2, vertically sliding with respect to said external cylindrical support 1, projects below said external cylindrical support 1, freeing at least one portion of surface adapted to release the fragrant essence.

Advantageously, whatever surface is soaked with fragrance, this can be divided into two sectors with different fragrance in a manner such that, by sliding the internal cylindrical support 2 to one side, a specific substance will be diffused, and by making it slide to the opposite side, a difference substance will be diffused.

Advantageously, said essence can also be constituted by any one chemical substance adapted to be diffused in the environment by carrying out a specific function such as, by way of a non-limiting example, a mosquito, insect or ant repellent.

In said second open configuration, said internal cylindrical support 2 - which as stated above projects below the external cylindrical support 1 - can advantageously act as abutment in a manner such that, by placing the paper roll on any one flat surface, direct contact between the abutment surface and the paper 10 itself is prevented.

Advantageously, said internal cylindrical support 2 is provided with a plurality of break lines 2.4 adapted to remove, in a precise and predetermined manner, the portion of internal cylindrical support 2 projecting in said second open configuration. In this manner, the paper roll can also be advantageously used in a classic manner, i.e. housed in the suitable roll- holder, retaining however the function of releasing fragrance to the environment.

Preferably, said break lines 2.4 will be perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the internal cylindrical support 1, thus describing a plurality of circumferences, preferably equidistant. Advantageously, the external surface 1.1 of the external cylindrical support 1 is smooth and a winding of toilet paper or sanitary towel 10 is glued around this, like in a normal roll, while the internal surface 1.2 thereof is adapted to be engaged in a reversibly slidable manner with said external surface 2.1 of said internal cylindrical support 2.

In order to ensure the static seal between said internal cylindrical support 2 and said external cylindrical support 1, above all when the device is situated in said second open configuration, advantageously the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 2 and/or the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1 can be provided with at least one relief 1.3, 2.3 constituted by a thickening of any one shape, comprised between 0.5 mm and 3 mm, preferably 1 mm, projecting from the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 1 and/or from the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1.

Also the internal surface 2.2 of the internal cylindrical support 2 can similarly be provided with at least one relief, adapted to improve the grip that the user obtains on said internal cylindrical support 2 in order to make it slide with respect to said external cylindrical support 1, bringing the support from the closed configuration to the open configuration.

Advantageously, an alternative version of the present invention can also be achieved in which there is no function of fragrance release regulation, but rather only the static function is present - i.e. that of making the toilet paper or sanitary towel roll a stand-alone element. Advantageously, said device for making toilet paper or sanitary towels stand-alone can be reproduced in all the standard formats commonly found on the market, and it is advantageously made of any organic or artificial polymer adapted to confer the necessary rigidity to the entire roll, preferably made of cardboard.

The present invention will now be illustrated by way of a merely non-limiting, non-binding example, making use of the figures which illustrate several exemplifying embodiments relative to the present inventive concept.

With reference to FIG. 1, a roll of common toilet paper 10 is represented, within which one sees, in transparent view (represented by the dashed line), the external cylindrical support 1 of the present invention, which consists of the normal hollow structure, usually made of cardboard, that is normally found within rolls of toilet paper or sanitary towels. In the lower part of the figure, one sees the internal cylindrical support 2 which comes to be inserted inside the external cylindrical support 1, this also being constituted by a hollow body, coaxial with said external cylindrical support 1, of size adapted to ensure that the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 2 is in contact, by being slidably and reversibly engaged, with the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1.

The function of the device of the present invention is, on one hand, that of diffusing a predetermined quantity of fragrance, according to the characteristics that will be described in detail hereinbelow, but also that of allowing the user to vertically abut the paper roll 10, preventing the paper itself from being dirtied or wetted. Such support is therefore situated in a first closed configuration, in which the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 2 and the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1 are completely in contact with each other. By sliding the internal cylindrical support 2 towards any one of the two ends of the external cylindrical support 1, the support will assume the second open configuration in which the internal cylindrical support 2, partially exiting outward from the external cylindrical support 1, allows abutting the entire paper roll 10 against a flat surface without the paper 10 coming into contact with the abutment surface.

This possibility is an important precaution for preventing the transmission of possible germs or bacteria coming from the surface against which the paper 10 is abutted.

For the purpose of conferring the necessary static seal, making the paper roll a "stand-alone" object, at least one relief 2.3 can be arranged on the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 2. Such at least one relief 2.3 consists of a thickening of the external surface 2.1 by at least 0.5 mm, preferably 1 mm, up to a maximum of 3 mm. Such relief 1.3 can also be present, with the same characteristics and aims, on the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1, as seen in detail in FIG. 2.

In addition, also the internal surface 2.2 of the internal cylindrical support 2 can be provided with at least one relief with the above-described characteristics. In this case, however, its purpose is not that of increasing the static seal, but rather that of facilitating the grip of the user who, through his/her finger, imparts the necessary force to the internal cylindrical support 2 for causing the passage from said first closed configuration to said second open configuration.

Even more in detail, said reliefs 1.3, 2.3 can have any shape, for example circumferential, as in Figures 4 and 5 or semi-circumferential as in Figures 6 A and 6B.

With regard to the functionality of diffusion of the fragrance, the external surface 2.1 of the internal cylindrical support 2 and/or the internal surface 1.2 of the external cylindrical support 1 are treated in any suitable manner in order to make them fragrant. When the standalone device is situated in said first closed configuration, the fragrant surfaces cover each other, thus preventing such diffusion, but when the support is placed in said second open configuration, the diffusion of said fragrance into the environment starts.

In one possible embodiment of the present invention, the two ends of said external surface 2.1 of said internal cylindrical support 2 and/or the two ends of said internal surface 1.2 of said external cylindrical support 1 can be adapted to diffuse two different fragrant essences. In this manner, the user can select which fragrance to be diffused by sliding said internal cylindrical support 2 in one direction or in the other with respect to said external cylindrical support 1.

A further and essential part of said internal cylindrical support 2 consists of the break lines 2.4, represented in all the figures and shown with the scissors symbol, which are arranged in preferably equidistant circumferences on the external surface 2.1, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the support itself. Due to said break lines 2.4, the stand-alone device can also be used in a classic manner, i.e. within the roll-holder, as represented in FIG. 3. Indeed, the user - after having made the internal cylindrical support 2 slide with respect to the external cylindrical support 1 - can remove, in a precise and predetermined manner, the projecting portion of internal cylindrical support 2, bringing the device back to the overall initial dimensions and thus allowing it to be adapted to the standard dimensions of the roll- holder. All this without giving up the function of fragrance diffusion, which remains one of the main objects of the device.

Another use of said break lines 2.4 consists of the fact that once the fragrant essence of the uncovered portion has been finished, the user can further slide said internal cylindrical support 2 with respect to said external roll 1, until a new portion has been freed that still has fragrance to be diffused in the air.

Possibly, a version of the present device can also be attained in which, in place of said fragrant essence, any one chemical substance is used that is adapted to perform an object different from that of releasing fragrance in the environment. For example, it could be designed to treat the dedicated surfaces with a chemical agent adapted to act as repellent for mosquitoes or insects in general.

In addition, one of the possible embodiments of the device of the present invention also provides that the external cylindrical support 1 and the internal cylindrical support 2 lack fragrant-release function, maintaining only the function of making the toilet paper or sanitary towel roll stand-alone.

In conclusion, it is clear that the present invention can be easily applied to all formats of toilet paper and sanitary towels 10 commonly found on the market, and it is extremely convenient since the preferred constituent material is cardboard, i.e. the same material already widely used for making the internal supports of paper rolls.

Finally, it is clear that modifications, additions or variants that are obvious for the man skilled in the art can be made to the invention described up to now, without departing from the protective scope provided by the enclosed claims.
